Some typical dishes include

Masala Dosa: A masala dosa is made by stuffing a dosa with a lightly cooked filling of potatoes, fried onions and spices. It wraps the dosa around a onion and potato curry or sabji.

Bisi bele bath: The traditional preparation of this dish is quite elaborate and involves the use of spicy masala, toor dal (a form of lentil) and vegetables. Spices like nutmeg and asafoetida, curry leaves and tamarind pulp used in its preparation contribute to the unique flavour and taste of this dish

Ragi rotti, It is made of ragi (finger millet) flour

Akki rotti, It is made of rice flour which is mixed with salt and water and kneaded well to make a soft dough
